… was too bloody hot.

But the company was good. Sara came over and we watched Anime. I am now 30 episodes into Gundam Wing, and actually enjoying it more than I thought I would. As for Evangelion… it ROCKS!!!! big time. There was this amazing battle scene in episode 9 or 10 or 11 (I forget which) where Oscar and Suji (I always get the character names wrong) have to defeat an angel by co-ordinating their moves. The whole things done to classical music and ballet and its visually and dramatically amazing. And I can’t get over how much “fan service” (a new term I’ve learnt which for those of you who don’t know means scenes where the big breasted women or 14 year old girls flash their undies or bits of flesh or lean over and show some cleavage) there is in Eva. I suppose it’s there to balance some of the intensity of the show.

Anyways… after the anime we went to the Rivoli with Nat too see Brokeback Mountain. The 6:40 session was booked out so we bought tickets for 9:30 session, headed to Heidelberg for dinner (ah the joys of garden salad) and then went back to the Rivoli where we saw a great film. BM is more than just a movie about two gay cowboys and in fact describing it in such a simplistic way is not only offesnive, but sort of misses the point of the film. It’s about family and relationships and love and it’s a very good film and worth watching.

And now the weather is hot and muggy. Sigh.
