The first day of 2013 starts with a first world problem. I still don’t have my Brydge keyboard for the iPad.. This was a Kickstarter project I signed up with in April 2012 with an estimated October delivery. I stopped posting in September with the hope that my next post would be written with the use of this sexy looking keyboard. But a number of shipping related issues and shit customer service has meant that I’m unlikely to see the keyboard until March.

Because I still have the itch to post, I’ve decided to forego the comfort of a keyboard and to use the onscreen keys. It’s a pain in the arse, but the WordPress app on iPad has had a number of major enhancements, especially the UI which now replicates the desktop version, that typing this blogpost isn’t as annoying as it used to be.

Still, I’d love that keyboard…

I’d like to promise that I’m gong to post more often this year – hopefully I will. But all going well, April sees the birth of The Sequel, a brother or sister (we don’t know) to Joshi, so who knows what new challenges that will bring.

Last night I have a lovely evening at chez Strahan to celebrate the end of 2012. There was lots of talk, ranging from fandom controversies to an in-depth analysis of One Direction (the boy band for those of you over the age of 14). Jonathan’s speech to bring in the New Year was genuinely touching. The only downer was (is) the oppressive Perth heat… though a change is coming.

Anyway, onward and forward with 2013. You never know, I might start reading novels again for pleasure and reviewing them here on the Hamster.

I wish all of you a great 2013.
