So, in an attempt to read more novels written by Australians, anyone got any recs for books published in 2012? And is there anything I should be keeping my eye out for?
The only exception is that I’d prefer not reading Book 3 in a three book series.

Standalone recs: “Sea Hearts,” Margo Lanagan, and I’ve not read it yet but I have “Bitter Greens” by Kate Forsyth on the TBR pile.
Looking forward to “Night’s Engines” by Trent Jamieson, which is a book 2 but it should be no trouble for you to zip through “Roil,” “Beseiged” by RC Daniells, which will be a Book 1 so I can’t vouch for its cliffhanger potential, same goes for “Shadowfell” by Juliet Marillier which will also be a Book 1, and Lee Battersby’s debut, “The Corpse-Rat King,” due in September from Angry Robot. Hannet and Slatter’s “Midnight and Moonshine” should also be good, come November
