It’s a film that being getting very good word of mouth since it was released overseas.  I beieve it had a short run during the Melbourne film festival, where it created a bit of a buzz.  Now, that’s it’s on general release (well general release to the arty cinemas in town who are willing to screen filsm with subtitles and snow and vampires), Dave and I went and saw it today.

And it’s definitely stacks up well to all the buzz and good vibes.

I only knew a little bit about it before I went in, and that’s a good thing.  The less you know the better.

It’s a slow burn movie, directed – or as Dave said, composed – in a beautiful, methodical way.  The acting is great, the story is amazingly heartfelt (considering the subject matter) and it has a satasfying ending.

So I recommend it highly.  After seeing something big like Watchmen, Let the Right One in is the perfect well made, small film antidote.
