Yes, it’s finally out there.  Issue 1 can be found and purchased (or if your a member purchased for free!!!!) from here.  It’s been really wonderful working with all the authors.  And I think there’s some brilliant and scary and creepy and surreal and just plain freaky stories to be found within the magazine.

I’d especially like to thank two people.  My gorgeous wife, Jules, who kept me sane throughout the entire process.  And hugged me heaps.

And my co-editor, Kirstyn, who is simply the best line editor I’ve ever come across – ever.  I’m not ashamed to say that a good chunk of the nitty gritty line editing was done by her.  She’s simply wonderful.  And the best thing is, we didn’t argue over a single story.

So please go out there and the read the first issue of Midnight Echo.  While I don’t intend to edit another issue of mag in the near or possibly distant future I do believe this will be the first of many issues of the magazine.

Long live Midnight Echo, Aussie short fiction and the AHWA!

Tomorrow I’m off to Perth for Adi (Jule’s sister) and Joe’s wedding.  I won’t be there for long, but I’m hoping to catch up with some of my Perth mates on the Monday… In the meantime, I shall go to sleep knowing that Midnight Echo is ALIVE!!!!!!
