No, I’m not going to spoil it for those of you who haven’t seen it.  But just in case, I’ll put my short, wonderfully thought out comments behind a cut.

I thought it was great fun.  As deep as an empty pool, but still hugely enjoyable.  It was much, much better than The Runaway Bridge, which suffers by having a very rubbish spider monster thing in it.

It’s basically a disaster movie, filled with set pieces and derivative disaster movie characters – most of whom are hiding some sort of secret.  Tennant is great, Kylie is OK, but the guy who steals the show is Clive Swift whose awesome.   It’s also a very grim, and sometimes dark, story – high on the slaughter factor.

It isn’t perfect and has it’s fair share of rubbish bits.  But as far as I’m concerned, the good bits and the pace and the sheer fun of it all makes up for it.

Most amazing of all, it was watched by 12,2 million people.  That Kylie – she knows how to bring in a crowd.
