Saw Children of Men with Jules last night. It’s brilliant. Possible as good as Little Miss Sunshine. The direction is superb, alot of shaky, single camera stuff. But done so expertly, so well that it draws you into the moment rather than make you feel sick to the tummy. I won’t give away spoilers, but the last 30 minutes are jaw droppingly fantastic. And there’s a scene so good (you’ll know it when you see it) that I got a little weepy.

Jules also liked it, but didn’t connect with the film like I did. We had a really interesting conversation about the film afterwards. It’s one of those films that provokes talk.

BSG goes from strength to strength. Episode 4 is stunning (I’m running out of positive adjectives). If you’re not breaking the law and downloading this show, please do so. Like Children of Men, this is intelligent, intense, clever stuff.

And finally, watched Torchwood episode 1 qnd 2. RTD’s is good. Chris Chibnall’s is rubbish and throws away all the build up and all the wit from episode 1. What bothers me is Chibnall is Torchwood’s show-runner. Still, I shall watch the entire season (of course) and rate it on an episode, by episode basis.
